April 30 was Mormon Helping Hands Day. We re-landscaped our local middle school. There was a great turnout from both church members and students. We all had a great time.

Here's Nate hauling dead ivy and wearing his spiffy yellow vest.

Lucas was an enthusiastic helper and loved collecting things to put in Dad's wheelbarrow.

Natalie and her favorite friends, Clare and Emma.

I even pitched in a little with my favorite tool - the pick. Memories of ripping out all the ivy in our backyard flooded back. Lovely. But this time it was already dead and just needed hauling!

We went to the lake near our house for a little hike and had fun collecting pond scum to feed our new tadpoles!

Spotting a toad at the lake was very exciting for the kids after we read all about them earlier that week.
