Partying in Paraty
Paraty (pronounced "Padachee") was a beautiful and historic coastal town that we stopped at for a few days on our way back from Rio to São Paulo.
Our quaint Pousada was a lovely oasis - such a relaxing place to stay.
This was our suite, a recently added on part of the pousada.

Natalie loved practicing her swimming with the noodles. It was a good thing she got comfortable with them because that was all the life jacket that was available on the boat the next day!

After the pousada's chef 'didn't show up' we made our way to town and had our pick of a ton of very under-served nice restaurants. The food was great! By the time we were finishing dinner a huge lightening storm rolled in so we stayed there a nice long time waiting until it had passed.

Dad found us a great boat for for the snorkeling trip. The boat made four stops at various islands for swimming/snorkeling. We saw some amazing fish!
We passed a lot of little islands that looked privately owned. Lucky!

...splash!! Nate and Joe impressed us all with their twin diving stunts off the upper level of the boat.

Our own cozy little spot on the boat. It was interesting that we were the only 'family' and the only people with children on the boat. The kids really 'livened things up' for everyone around us :)

My heart was constantly in my throat as we were out there with the kids in the open water!

We finished the boat ride thoroughly satisfied with a day of true relaxation and fun. It started to rain and thunder right as we headed to the dock. The kids took a taxi back to the pousada with Mom & Dad and Nate and I had a nice walk home in the thunderstorm.
Meanwhile, Joe and our little dude partied on with some hip music tutelage :)

Just a few more minutes of hammock time while we waited for the van to take us back to Sao Paulo...I could have stayed in that spot for a week!
